The Dirt That Built Me

People see the title. They see the success. They see the accomplishments. What they don’t always see is the journey.

My journey started as a loom fixer in a textile mill — hands dirty, learning what work really means. I had no idea those years on the factory floor would shape everything I know about leadership.

Through hard work, faith, and the right mentors, I rose from the factory floor to the executive table — leading HR across union and non-union environments in multiple states for more than twenty years.

Along the way I learned that leadership isn’t about the title on your door. It’s about purpose, resilience, and the people you lift as you climb.

Today, through Rise to Lead, I share that journey to help emerging and experienced leaders grow, inspire others, and lead with purpose — on stages, in workshops, and one-on-one.
